Bulletin Board

1. Members are requested to remain seated at the end of each program until the President has an opportunity to thank the speaker and present the complimentary Kiwanis pen.
2. The monthly Golden K Newsletter is published regularly on our Golden K Website at www.desmoinesgoldenk.org .  Any member with a computer and internet access can view the newsletter on this website at any time.  If you would prefer to receive your newsletter via the internet, just advise our Secretary, Virginia Burmeister.  Virginia will remove your name from the list of members to receive newsletters via U.S. Mail, the club will eliminate a portion of our regular postage expense and your information will be available at the speed of light or, at least, at the speed of electricity.

Notes of Interest

• Mary Lou Aspengren was honored as State Fair Iowan of the Day. She was selected by the fair's Blue Ribbon Foundation in recognition of her many volunteer activities.
• Bob Brown is recovering from a fall.
• Lou White and his wife were injured in a traffic accident.
• Golden K membership has slowly declined due largely to natural attrition. All members are urged to invite guests to attend one or more of our meetings and enjoy the outstanding programs. Then if your guest is favorably inclined, invite him or her to become a member. You will be doing your guest and our club a big favor. They won't come if you don't ask!
