April 1

Suzanne Johnson will speak about "Medicine for Mali." She will be introduced by Bill Armstrong.

April 8

David Wright from the Iowa Soybean Association will be our speaker. Paul Joslin will introduce David.

April 15

Tom Coates will speak to us. Tom is with Consumer Credit of Des Moines and will be introduced by Clint Gaulke.

April 22

Bill Walljasper, Chief Financial Officer for Casey's General Stores, will be introduced by Paul Joslin.

April 29

Ron Sampson will speak on the evolution of girl's basketball in Iowa. Bill Armstrong will introduce him.

  • We were very sorry to hear of the death of John N. Freeland, former member and past president.
  • Virginia Burmeister is a patient in Room 143 of the Skilled Care Center at Wesley Acres. She would enjoy afternoon visitors - call first at 271-6932.    

Bulletin Board

1. The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Des Moines is our new partner with the Pancake Festival.

2. Call Bob Easler if you want tickets to the annual Maundy Thursday Breakfast at 7 am on April 1 at Westminster.

3. Contact Tom Cady if you can help with track events at the Special Olympics held at Simpson College on April 14.

4. You are invited to open house at 4 pm on April 15 at Carver School located at 705 E. University. Cecile Brewton's son is the principal.

5. Look forward to attending the programs of the Ray Pugh Institute of New Hope which will be April 11, 18 and 25 at the New Hope Methodist Church, 4525 Beaver Avenue.

6. The fifth grade students from Findley School will attend Environmental Education Camp at the Y Camp near Boone on May 3 and 4. Don Nenuman has arranged this and funded it with outside donations.

7. Two host families are needed for visitors from Serbia from May 18-26. Tell Bob Easler if you want to do that.
