than $6000 has been raised and will send 14 Findley
and Capitol View students to Y Camp this summer.

for use in our new Membership Directory. Existing
photos will be used unless a new photo is needed or
you wi;sh to have your current photo changed.

. The new directory will be assembled and
distributed in late April. Volunteers will be
needed to assist with this process. If you will
be able to help, contact Dick or Don to let them know
that you are willing to participate.

Cady has arranged
to obtain appropriate children's books through the
Planned Parenthood book sale project. The books
will be distributed to students at Findley and Capitol
View
Schools
. Students
will be encouraged to take the books home to help
improve English language skills of both the student
and their family members. If you are available
to help Tom pick up and transport the books, contact
him at 277-4659
.
- The
monthly Golden K Newsletter is published regularly
on our Golden K Website at www.desmoinesgoldenk.org
. Any member with a computer and internet
access can view the newsletter on this website at
any time. If you would prefer to receive your
newsletter via the internet, just advise our Secretary,
Virginia Burmeister. Virginia
will remove your
name from the list of members to receive newsletters
via U.S, Mail, the club will eliminate a portion of
our regular postage expense, and your information
will be available at the speed of light or, at least,
at the speed of electricity.

Devine and John Merriman,
who have been out will illness or injury, are both
back attending meetings. Welcome Back!
- Mary
Jean, wife of Les Anderson, and Gloria, wife of Don
Moon, were each hospitalized recently. Also,
Erma, wife of Paul Joslin, recently suffered a broken
leg.
- Jim
Brucker was recently
hospitalized for heart valve surgery.
- Bob
MacNaughton, a recent
new member, died earlier this month.
- Ray
Pugh is currently
receiving Hospice care due to long standing heart
problems.
