Bulletin Board

1.  At our 2010 Christmas party, more than ninety Golden K members and guests enjoyed a delicious meal at the Drake Olmsted Center and were treated to a wonderful musical program featuring Gine Gelder and Ben Von Hagen.  Thanks to Don Neumann and Bob Easler for planning and presenting an outstanding Christmas party.  Also, thanks to all Golden K members that assisted in various areas to help make the party a smooth-running and successful evening.

2.  At our December 2 meeting, Virginia Petersen and Hal Higgs explained the need for a concerted new member recruitment effort and our New Member Committee's plan to accomplish an ambitious new member goal during the coming year.  Simply stated, the plan is for each club member to invite one to three guests to our club meetings and then to invite those guests to join Golden K and enjoy the fellowship and outstanding programs offered each week.  The plan is simple and guaranteed to be successful.  All we need do is Just Do It.

Notes of Interest

• Dick Nelson has been recovering from surgery that occurred in late November and is scheduled for additional surgery in January.  Dick has been back attending meetings recently and we wish him a speedy and relatively pain free recovery from the next procedure. 
• Penny Valley is in Iowa Lutheran Hospital following a heart problem followed by complications with pneumonia.  Best wishes to Penny for a rapid and full recovery.
