January 1
New Year's Day holiday - No meeting. Enjoy the football bowl games.

Tommy Thompson, one of our own Golden K members, will present Iowa Sports Heroes. Tommy will be introduced by Don Neumann.

Terry Branstad and John Amato, President and Vice President, Des Moines University, will present Health Care in Iowa. Messrs. Branstad and Amato will be introduced by Paul Joslin.

Gary Thull, public relations specialist with Pioneer Hi-Bred International, will speak. Gary will be introduced by Bob Weast.

Gerald Hockmuth, missionary in the Orient, will discuss his missionary experience in Japan. Gerald will be introduced by Ray Maurer.

Ellery Duke with the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center will present our program. Ellery will be introduced by Harry Hinrichs.


Bulletin Board
Golden K Club membership is slowly declining due largely to natural attrition. All members are urged to invite guests to attend one or more of our club meetings and enjoy the outstanding programs. Then, if your guest is favorably inclined, invite him or her to become a member. You will be doing your guest and our club both a big favor. Don't delay!
The Golden K Christmas party was held on Thursday, December 11th. All attendees extend a hearty thanks to Don and Vaughn Murphy and all supporting volunteers for planning and presenting a really fine party. The food was delicious, the location was great, the entertainment was wonderful and the organized group participation was fun. Thanks for a job very well done.
The next Kiwanis Division Council will be held on January 2nd at 7:00 pm at Plymouth Congregational Church. Any interested club member is welcome to attend and participate.

Notes of Interest

Dick Follis died Thursday, November 20 following a lengthy illness.
Madalyn Dockum, wife of Gerry Dockum, died Tuesday, November 25 following a lengthy illness.
John Kuhn died suddenly on Saturday, November 29th.
Moe Nielsen, Mr. 50/50, is at home recuperating following injury due to a fall.
Bob Logan recently had knee surgery.
We offer our sincere sympathy to all family members of these deceased individuals. And we wish Moe and Bob a speedy recovery.
