Bulletin
Board
- Golden K Club membership is slowly declining due largely to
natural attrition. All members are urged to invite guests
to attend one or more of our club meetings and enjoy the outstanding
programs. Then, if your guest is favorably inclined, invite
him or her to become a member. You will be doing your guest
and our club both a big favor.
- Members are requested to remain seated at the end of each program
until the President has an opportunity to thank the speaker and
present the complimentary Kiwanis pen.
- The monthly Golden K Newsletter is published regularly on our
Golden K Website at www.desmoinesgoldenk.org
. Any member with a computer and internet
access can view the newsletter on this website at any time.
If you would prefer to receive your newsletter via the internet,
just advise our Secretary, Virginia Burmeister.
Virginia will remove your name from the list of members
to receive newsletters via U.S. Mail, the club will eliminate
a portion of our regular postage expense and your information
will be available quickly and conveniently at any time you wish.
Notes
of Interest
- Chet Good is
now in a recovery facility following heart surgery.
- Moe Nielsen continues to be out with an infection.
We hope to see Moe again soon.
- Jim Brucker is back attending meetings following
a pacemaker tune up. Note Jim's smile and somewhat more
rapid gait.
- Dale Nelson is also back attending meetings
again. Welcome back, Dale.
- A svelte Mary Grefe is back in Des Moines and
attending Golden K meetings. Members were pleased to learn
that Mary had not been incarcerated. Rather, she has been
dealing with a bad back and is now nearly back to normal.
We were pleased to note that a pain in the back had not seriously
affected Mary's sense of humor.
- Marion Alberts has been keeping surgeons busy.
We are glad to see him back attending meetings and feeling better.
- Members were saddened at the sudden death of Bob Alford,
our first Golden K President.
