Bulletin Board

1Joe Evers is working hard to raise funds and the umbrella.  Joe is selling umbrellas that are red, white and blue with both a religious and a patriotic theme decor.  These full size umbrellas will keep you dry when it rains and have a special device that will allow you to close the umbrella without getting wet as you jump into your car.  Umbrella sales are a Golden K Fund raising effort and a great bargain at $15 each.  See Joe to purchase your umbrella.  Keep yourself dry, help raise funds for our club and meet all of your special gift requirements in one uplifting thrust.

2.  Golden K is the largest Kiwanis Club in the District but we are slowly losing this distinction because of a gradual but consistent decline in our membership.  Help your club maintain its size and our leadership role.  Invite a friend as a guest at one of our meetings and then invite them to join the club.  You will be doing your friend and our club a great favor.

Notes of Interest

  • Leon Eggers fell recently and suffered a broken leg.
  • Wayne Burger has been back attending meetings although he continues to suffer significant back pain due to an injury last winter.
  • Charlie Nettles died earlier this month following a lengthy illness.  We will miss Charlie's friendship and great sense of humor.
  • Virginia Burmeister is at Calvin Community, Room 37.  Recently, Virginia was presented with a recognition award to acknowledge her long time service as club Secretary.  Congratulations, Virginia.  It's good to see you back at the club meetings.
  • Ray Pugh was seen out walking and voting in the recent primary election.  We look forward to seeing Ray at a meeting again soon.
